Extended Description: Resident scholar at Brandeis University Annie Storr (OC '75) delivers a presentation on Ellen Gates Starr, titled "The Cause of Art is the Cause of the People: Ellen Gates Starr at Oberlin College." Oberlin College and Chicago’s famous Hull House Settlement shared countless points of intersection and common purpose for a century. None left as lasting an impression on Oberlin and the Allen Memorial Art Museum as the week when Hull House co-founder, Ellen Gates Starr (1859-1940) -- artist, activist, lecturer -- came to visit in the spring of 1917. | An audience Q&A moderated by Andria Derstine, John G.W. Cowles Director of the AMAM, will follow the talk. Free and open to all. | PLEASE REGISTER IN ADVANCE FOR THIS FREE WEBINAR at https://tinyurl.com/y4hpzn3u.
