Extended Description: The very first steps in a weaving project are the foundation of the whole project. There are many decisions to make about patterns and yarn and finishing touches to be done. This workshop teaches you how to get started. This process can be used with any floor or table loom. If you have a good understanding of what these steps entail the weaving of the project can be much more enjoyable and have a successful finish. We will discuss the types and sizes of yarns. Each person will learn to do their own calculations on a form provided, with step-by-step instructions of why and what needs to be included. There will be one warping board for everyone to take turns on to get the feel of getting the yarn prepared for the loom. If you wish to bring your own warping board you can start your own warp to finish at home. AGES 16+ Students should bring a calculator, pencil, eraser, and paper for notes
