Sustainable and Affordable Housing Community Meeting

May 26, 7:00 pm to 8:15 pm | Oberlin Public Library, Meeting Room

Short Description: Join us to discuss ways to improve sustainable and affordable housing in Oberlin: listen to speakers from our community, learn about a potential new ordinance, and participate in a Q&A and discussion!

Extended Description: On Thursday, May 26, at 7:00 pm, Sunrise Oberlin, an Oberlin College local chapter of the national movement Sunrise (sunrisemovement.org), is hosting a community meeting to talk about sustainable and affordable housing in Oberlin. We will be discussing the creation of a housing ordinance that we would like City Council to pass and the rezoning of the Green Acres and Bait Canteen lots to allow for multi-family housing. The speakers for this event will include Linda Arbogast (City of Oberlin’s Sustainability Coordinator), Carrie Porter (City of Oberlin’s Director of Planning and Development), and members of local organizations also advocating for more housing. We encourage you to come to share your thoughts. Contact sunriseoberlin@gmail.com with any questions you might have, and we hope to see you there!
