Short Description: This Tuesday Tea presents a talk by Nicholas Bujalski on "Bakunin’s Barricade" by Ahmet Öğüt.
Extended Description: The installation of Ahmet Öğüt’s "Bakunin’s Barricade" at the Allen Memorial Art Museum presents a promising moment for thinking through the intersections of radical art, history, and politics. In this talk, Nicholas Bujalski, Visiting Assistant Professor of History, will explore the nature of this peculiar historical technology of insurrection – and invite attendees to reflect upon how barricades have served as generative sites for revolutionary reconsiderations of time, space, and political aesthetics from the nineteenth century to the present day.
